City airport records passenger growth

The Sri Guru Ram Das Jee (SGRDJ) International Airport has recorded 61 per cent domestic passenger growth this financial year, the highest across international airports in the country.
The total passenger traffic has gone up by 50.3 per cent, domestic footfall increased by 74 per cent and international by 9.1 per cent for January 2018.
According to Sameep Singh Gumtala, an aviation analyst and Overseas Secretary of the Amritsar Vikas Manch, an NGO, analysis of the latest passenger statistics released by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) for January 2018 reveals that Amritsar ranks top across the international airports in the country with 61 per cent growth in domestic traffic in the first 10 months (April-January) of this fiscal.
