Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM)​ Established in the year 1991, under the far sighted vision of Singh Sahib Giani Kirpal Singh Ji, the organization was established keeping in view of the vision given by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in his words "Vasdi Sanghan Apaar Anup Ramdaspur". The city of Amritsar was founded in 1577 by the 4th Sikh Guru Sahib Guru Ramdas ji, with a vision of sustainable development in one hand and nurturing care for nature and biodiversity on the other, Guru Sahib thus envisioned Chakk Ramdaspur (present day Amritsar) to be a prosperous city of incomparable beauty. So our task is to raise awareness so citizens of this great city take pride in caring for the Guru Ki Nagri.

 

Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) is now the leading civil society, civic advocacy NGO. It was established by group of Veteran personalities of Amritsar with an aim to raise the development related issues of Amritsar area. Amritsar Vikas Manch is a registered NGO comprising of socially committed teachers, doctors, professionals, advocates, government officials, industrialists, businessmen we can say citizens from all walks of life with a vision of guiding the overall development of the Holy city - Amritsar.

 

Its strength are this group of concerned individuals from different walks of life who really care for their city. The organization is playing an active role for all round development of the city by taking up issues related to airport, roads, pollution and civic amenities with concerned authorities. The organization as NGO is also listed with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology for giving an advisory & supportive role in Environment related issues.

 

The main vision & mission of Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) is seeking an overall holistic development of Amritsar with all necessary basic & modern facilities like good wide Roads, Green belts, parks, green spaces, to have best world Medical facilities, Job Opportunities for Youth, Direct International & Domestic air connectivity from Amritsar.

AVM demands include Better Public Transport facilities for all Citizens, Establishment of an International Cricket Stadium, Creation of IT Hub by Developing Software Technology Park, Better Sanitation & sewage in and around the city with world class sewage & drainage system, conservation & preservation of Historical heritage Places, Patti-Makhu & Patti-Ferozepur Rail Link, Green spaces & green belts around the City, a proper plan for Solid Waste Management.

 

The team AVM is active around the year and connects with Civic administration authorities, Government Official's meeting them time to time regarding the vision and published demands subject to Overall Prosperity & Development of Amritsar. The main mission is focused to help Amritsar see its glorious days again.
 

AVM being a registered NGO is managed by a Constitutional governing body in which all member's at large are welcome and openly invited to give suggestions, advice to working executive body for betterment of Amritsar City.
