Connect holy city with flight to San Francisco: Manch

The Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) has sought air connectivity of Amritsar with Delhi-San Francisco flight. AVM patron Charanjit Singh Gumtala in a communique to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju made this demand.
He welcomed the Air India’s announcement of a non-stop flight between Delhi and San Francisco from December 2. He said it would be the only non-stop link between India and the West Coast of America.
He said San Francisco would become the National Carrier’s fourth destination in the United States after daily non-stop flights to New York (JFK), Newark (EWR) and Chicago (ORD). He reasoned that the flight could attract passengers from the adjoining Canadian province - British Columbia, where a sizeable population of Punjabi origin was settled. Read full news >>>
