NGO submits memo to parliamentary panel

The Amritsar Vikas Manch (AVM) submitted a memorandum to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forest, listing out environment, water and noise pollution concerns in the holy city.
The memorandum expresses concern over the deteriorating quality of air, water and proposed site of the solid waste management plant here.
The manch stated that: “As per the report of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Amritsar is among the cities having most polluted air in the world. Out of the 20 cities of the world, Amritsar is ranked at 14th.” Full news courtesy The Tribune India
