The gurdwara (Punjabi: ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ, gurduārā or ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਾ, gurdwārā), meaning "the doorway to the guru", is a place of worship for Sikhs - the followers of Sikhism and also a place where community connects. The age old tradition says it is place where weary travellers and pilgrims may rest and have food to eat.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH is the Khalsa salutation used for the first time among the Sikhs by command of Guru Gobind Singh at the time of the manifestation of the Khalsa in 1699.
